Stenography is a passion.
Joshua B. Edwards is a passionate stenographic writer who is committed to providing excellent realtime translation of the spoken word. He has taken over a thousand depositions, arbitrations, and hearings, and spent one year in federal court in the Eastern District of New York. He and a partner co-founded StenoCaptions LLC, a company that provides full-time CART (Communication Access Realtime Translation) captioning for college classes and live events. Joshua has been a Board member of the New York State Court Reporters Association for several years, and served as the President from 2019-2021. He is also a member of the National Court Reporters Association, and an associate member of the United States Court Reporters Association.
Joshua mentors court reporting students across the country and has organized dozens of webinars for both students and working reporters. The focus of these webinars is on stenographic skill development, dictionary-building, ethics, and building knowledge and confidence. He is the Court Reporting Internship Coordinator at Plaza College in Queens, New York.
Joshua became an Angel Donor of the National Court Reporters Foundation in November 2021.
